Hi Brian,

I was up there 18:00-20:00 too but we must have gone opposite routes!

Good to see so many Curlews about and I thought between 3 & 5 pairs so very similar.

The only things I can add were a little lower down the valley and were:

Stock Dove, flock of 4 over the old turf fields,

Skylark, c8 singing birds,

Meadow Pipit, c20 with a flock of 5 heading north,

Pied Wagtail, 3,

Jay, pair,

Linnet, 2 as I was dropping off Harden Moor towards Ridshaw.

Regards,

David.

Hi David,

I parked at Ridshaw [Black Hyundai 4x4] at 1700 hrs walked up Bury old road skirted Fletcher bank over the moor and back down to Ridshaw, I can only assume that you were always out of sight as I saw just one jogger.

The strange thing is I saw no Meadow Pipits, and that was one reason I went as there has been large numbers coming in all week, it just proves how unpredictable Birding is !.
