Holden Wood yesterday afternoon:-

 

10-15 Lapwing

min 8 Mallard Drakes,  4 of them flying after a female

 

whitethroat singing, displaying, songflighting desperately at dam side

 

4 coot   - 1 on nest

1 mallard with 2 ducklings

1 mallard with 5 ducklings recently hatched

 common sandpiper

bird of the day was a 2CY LITTLE GULL flying over the reservoir heading north 

 

cuckoo calling too Today Calf hey from 1.30-2.15

 

2 green woodpeckers

1 great spotted woodpeckers

2 min mistle thrush

blackcap  singing in car park  and fairy glen

2 great crested grebes

2 pied wagtails minimum

song thrush singing in car park and fairy glen

 

common sandpiper

forgot to the the mallard with 6 ducklings at calf hey tuesday


Wednesday Holden Wood from 7pm-30pm

whitethroat still there
4 coot
2 oystercatcher - one at farm other flying near grane road
usual swallows and sand martins hawking flies over the river

mallards still with 2 ducklings and the other stil with 5

1 female mallard and min 8 males

willow warbler, blackcap, robin, 2 song thrush, blackbird singing

1 curlew landed on the bank.

12 lesser black backed juveniles flew over northbound
