Strongstry to Ewood Bridge round robin.

Came home yesterday from 34 degrees to 9 degrees and pouring rain, then today is sunny and 17 degrees, great British weather.

Strongstry Kingfishers have raised 3 young which are now being fed on the river.

Sandmartin colony is now 16 plus nest sites all active.

Some Swallows and Swifts hunting along the river.

All the Tits appear ok 3 family parties of Long-tailed seen

Finches were scarce, one female Bull Finch, one pair Goldfinch,  several Chaffinch.

Young Nuthatch and Treecreeper  seen.

Lots of Robin, Wren and an unusual amount of young Blackbirds.

Two pair of Song Thrush both with young.

Good numbers of Willow Warbler around the route.

Several Blackcap with young.

Three Spotted Flycatchers two appear to have established a nest site the other was some distance away feeding.

Male  Whitethroat hawking insects near railway bridge down stream of Ewood bridge.

One Grey Heron, and four female Goosanders.

Two pair Grey Wagtails feeding young.

Several Dippers young and adult.

Pair of Canada Geese with no young, Mallards with 2/3 day old chicks.

Great Spotted Woodpeckers feeding young around back garden.

Jay and Magpie active.

Several Black-headed gulls a.long the river.

 Crows, Rooks, and Jackdaws in good numbers.

Still too many Wood Pigeon, but no Collard Dove seen.
