A lovely evening stroll along the Irwell to Chatterton and back

Birds seen

Chiffchaff

Chaffinch

B-H-Gull

Dunnock

Wren

White Goose in the river

Goldfinch

G-B-B-Gull

Song Thrush 9 in full song

Great tit with 5 fledglings

2 juveniles G-S- Woodpecker but I also thought they might have been L-S-Woodpeckers because of the red head ?

Crow 90+ in meadow that had just been cut

Swallow 20 + juveniles sat on phone wires

Robin

Blue Tit

Blackbird

Hi Craggy

The Great Spotted Woodpecker is a lot larger in size over the Lesser Spotted. The red on the top of the head is on Great Spotted when they are Juveniles.

Adult Male has a red nape and the Adult female has no red on the head or nape at all.
