All the tit species in good numbers, struggled with finches, Chaffinch ok, Goldfinch pair with young, no Bullfinch at usual spots.
Blackbird in large numbers still, Song Thrush has bred well good numbers of young, had to go up to cut silage fields to find two pair of Mistle Thrush, also in field was a juvenile Curlew.

Several young Nuthatch and adults, one single Treecreper.
Three family parties of Great Spotted Woodpecker, did not see or hear any Green Woodpecker.
Plenty of Crow, Rook, and Jackdaw around, four Jays feeding through the woods and two Magpie over.
Black-headed Gulls along the river, pair of Canada Geese in Irwell Vale with two well grown young.
One or two Starling in Strongstry, plenty of Wood Pigeon and four pair of Collard Dove around the route.
On the river were young Grey Wagtails, Dippers, Kingfisher, lots of Mallard some still with small young. Three young Goosander.

Sand Martin colony very busy, some have fledged, and some young being fed at hole entrance, several Swift and Swallow in the air especially around EBSW, only saw two House Martin.
Good numbers of Robin and Wren, only two Los of Dunnock seen, spent some time counting House Sparrow, 17 around Irwell Vale, 12 at Stubbins, both counts included young.
At least eight Willow Warblers, six different Blackcap parties, one Chiffchaff and a family party of Whitethroat at the previous site near Ewood Bridge.
Both pair of spotted Flycatcher are doing well, I will be watching close for young fledging any day now.
I flushed a young Tawny Owl from the woods, this is the first evidence of breeding this year, both Owl boxes have been unused.
I have not seen Garden Warbler this year at either of the sites used the last couple of years, also no Goldcrest.
