What a discovery and just 1 month off being 22. Did it celebrate it's 18th with a pub crawl? At least it puts Rossendale on the map. Makes you wonder could it have moved around at all?
My wife is a member of wild about Britain and read about this Owl and I did wonder if it could have been one of your "offspring". Quite a feat all round with the likelihood and age.
Are they quite sedentary in general do you know?

Down Chimneys does seem to be a common occurrence with Tawny Owls and Jackdaws!!
Also they do seem to be very sedentary going off numerous other recoveries, but they obviously do move around aswell with previous recoveries of local ringed birds from Cheshire, West Yorkshire and West Lancs..
