Blue Tit, plenty around including young of varying ages.
Great Tit, as above.
Coal Tit. appears to have bred well.
Long-tailed Tit. several family parties with good numbers.
Bullfinch. breeding numbers seem low, will know better when I start to feed in the autumn.
Chaffinch. Good numbers have bred well.
Goldfinch. still only odd ones around, that's not uncommon here at this time.
Greenfinch, two young birds in Irwell Vale, again we don't see many here until later.
Redpoll, one in Hawthorn at Irwell Vale.
House Sparrow, still there in two areas, no count completed.
Robin, Blackbird, Wren, large numbers all over with newly fledged young still showing.
Dunnock, good numbers about usual.
Song Thrush, I think they have had an excellent breeding season, there is still evidence of young in the nest now.
Mistle Thrush, only three individuals seen, I did not leave the valley floor would expect to see more up in the fields.
Nuthatch, these have bred well with at least two pair having second broods.
Treecreeper, there was three nest sites I new of, all now vacated individual birds (2) seen.
Great Spotted Woodpecker, several young seen they appear to be in good numbers.
Green Woodpecker, two nest sites now vacated, only one adult seen today.
Willow Warbler, good numbers still around.
Chiffchaff, no song for ID but one feeding at Ewood bridge.
Blackcap, very good numbers of young around, will be interesting to see if they stay for winter.
Whitethroat, one near the nest site at Ewood Bridge.
Woodcock, one bird flushed from newly felled area in Lumb Vale, I have seen them here before in spring.
Grey Heron, one young bird at Lumb, first here for a while.
Mallard, plenty around including soon very small young.
Goosander, three juveniles on the river at Alderbottom.
Dipper, have bred well, young still around.
Kingfisher, three individuals seen.
Grey-wagtail, only one adult seen today, but two nest sites produced seven young.
Pied-wagtail, several feeding in fields.
Wood Pigeon, Jackdaw, Rook and Black-headed Gulls in good numbers feeding in cut silage.
Jay, only one bird seen.
Carrion Crow and Starling, some flying over.
Sand Martin, nest site is now empty, there was a maximum of 16 holes used, none seen today.
Swift, Swallow, House Martin, odd ones in the sky over Edenfield.
No Spotted Flycatcher seen.
