I've not seen any common lizards in my garden this year (yet!), but I've seen a few around Alden & Musbury. Last week, I stumbled upon 3 of them on a large rock beside the Rossendale Way at the top end of the Musbury valley. Here are 2 of them that kept still enough for a photo.

Hi Paul

Great photos.  J had a walk up on Tuesday and found the spot where you saw the lizards but unfortunately I didn't see any.  what time of day was it when you saw them?

cheers Kevin

The photos were taken around 4:40pm on a warm, sunny afternoon. The lizards were quite active and I sat watching them for around 15 minutes. Before I left, I gently parted the grass at the base of the rock and there were a couple of young 'uns looking back at me. I've walked past that spot many times in the last few years and this is the first time I've ever seen them there.
