Friday 19th September 2014 Visible Bird Migration - Trig Point, Hutton Roof Common from first light 0640hrs to 0900hrs All movement South to SS East unless stated otherwise. Wind: 5mph ENE, 12c Temp, 53% Cloud cover, 1013mb pressure. Cloudy, Hazy to all perimeters. Again movement very quiet.
Noticed that you are a bit quiet up there. Mipits have been pouring through last 2 visits up C / bridge area this week but only for first 2-3 hrs. Very quiet with all the Finches tho.. Good Raptor day today ..
Glad your getting them! they have been really going for it at Walney the last few days, with one day at 4K and Thursday at Heysham they had 2K in the first couple of hours.
But sadly here its just a no no at the moment, even when I go up to the Trig on HR a little better but still poor. Its this silly anti cyclone weather and these Easterlies. I'll bet its good from about Tuesday when we turn back to West. Chaffinches still poor but will start anyday now. Geese still thin, but weather not suitable. Odd couple of continental Song Thrush through yesterday. Check with you once things start to get going.
