Highlights were:-

 

No sign of the shrike

 

Musbury:-

 

2 kestrel

1 Buzzard

1 sparrowhawk looks like hunting meadow pipits

100 plus meadow pipits on move 

2 stonechat where shrike was

2 whinchat there too

Probable juvenile Hobby chasing a small bird

A few wrens - one point wren, stonechat and whinchat on wire close together

100 plus woodpigeons moving south, biggest was flock of about 70

2 mistle thrush in trees near old railway line

 

Ogden:-

1 g b b gull

3 min cormorants

2 stonechat

3-4 immature large gulls prob herring from last week

 

Holden Wood:-

 

Male pheasant at top end

2 kestrel

2 grey heron

13-14 cormorants in roost at 12.40pm some were on Ogden 

8 wigeon one looked slightly smaller could it have been something else?  Record in Rossendale for me!  Met Craggy there he saw the Wigeon land at about 9.45?  They were not there on way up

4 min stonechat

1 sparrowhawk

 

10 teal

 100 plus Canada's

Can add

Holden Wood

3 Jay

Flock of 25 Starlings

40+ Lapwings

10 Jackdaws

1 Green Woodpecker

8 Wigeon were there at 9:45 in with 5 Mallard, they most just have arrived

they got a bit nervous and took off but soon landed again got a photo of them 7 out of the 8
