A small gull landed on the ground around 3.00pm yesterday, I subsequently three hours later found it dead, white head and body, greyish wings, red bill, red legs, black tail, dark spot to rear of eyes, was it a juvenile Black Headed Gull. ? I have some photos on my phone but can't download them here.

Sounds like a winter plumaged adult black headed gull. Any brown on it?

Hi Antony

the links below should show a winter plumaged Black headed gull, which is what your bird is most likely to be.

the pictures are from birdfotofi which is always worth a look when you want to see quality images of any bird.  This link should take you to their homepage http://www.birdphoto.fi/

cheers Kevin
