• common gull - c15 in the valley
• lesser black backed gull - flock of 3 over Rooley Moor Road
• herring gull - 2 flying up the valley
• feral pigeon - min 15 at Kearn's Mill
• woodpigeon - min 60 at Lench
• collared dove - 1 at Lench
• little owl - 1 near Cowpe Res
• kingfisher - 1 at Lench Lodges
• green woodpecker - 1 heard at Lench and the same or another bird heard near Cowpe Res
• great spotted woodpecker - 1 at Lench
• magpie - only 5 or 6 seen
• jackdaw - c250 circling high over Lenchfold Farm and heading southwest to roost.  Another flock of c50 followed 5 minutes later
• rook - birds heard calling from fields above the valley
• carrion crow - c70 at Top of Leach
• raven - flock of 5 flew over Lench and later 2 flew towards Cowpe Moss
• goldcrest - 2 at Lench
• blue tit - 10 at Lench
• great tit - 11 at Lench
