The following all seen in poor visibility today at Grane. 

Holden Wood (almost completely frozen except for marshy area at top end)

• cormorant - at least 14 flew out of the trees when the fog lifted for a brief moment
• grey heron - 1
• Canada goose - 110 in the roadside field
• teal - 4
• snipe - 8
• black headed gull - 23
• common gull - 1
• woodpigeon - 1
• robin - 3
• blackbird - 3
• long tailed tit - 3 chasing in roadside hedgerow
• wren - 3
• goldfinch - 13

Ogden ( Appeared to be about 70% frozen, but I could only see half the res)

• mallard - 10 including a free flying white mallard
• teal - min 6
• goldeneye - 1 pr
• black headed gull - 31
• tawny owl - 1 heard calling at midday
• woodpigeon - 1
• green woodpecker - 1 yaffling
• great spotted woodpecker - 1 seen hammering pine cones against tree trunks
• meadow pipit - 2
• grey wagtail - 1

great tit - 2 singing

• coal tit - 1 singing
• wren - 2
• treecreeper - heard calling
• magpie - 1
• carrion crow - 2 sounded like they were harassing a bird of prey which I didn't see 
• goldfinch - 8

Calf Hey (appeared to be about 80% frozen, again visibility was so poor I couldn't see all the res)

• teal - 9 (possibly the same birds that were on Ogden)
• black headed gull - 6
• great spotted woodpecker -  2
• robin - 2
• blackbird - 2
• great tit - 1 singing
• blue tit - 1
• coal tit - 3 together and 4 others heard
• goldcrest - 2 singing birds with another 2+ heard calling
• wren - 1
• treecreeper - 1 pr
• bullfinch - 1 female

Crow Trees

• 1 male sparrowhawk

Heap Clough

• min 30 goldfinch

10 bramblings were at our feeders at Gaghills yesterday morning.  This morning there were at least 4 including the male with the ring on the right leg
