Fylde Coast or Fairburn Ings/Swillington ings

Hi

Thinking of going to either the Fylde Coast or West Yorkshire on Saturday.

On the Fylde a Red Throated Diver showing very well on Fairhaven Lake, Firecrest, Cetti;s Warbler and brief sightings of Iceland Gull at Marton Mere.  The Great Grey Shrike has not been reported for a few weeks and the Shore Lark not for a couple of days.  Probably other birds around too and other areas to visit.

On the other hand there is St Aidans formerly and sometimes still known as Swillington Ings and Fairburn Ings near Castleford.  Smew showing at the latter including a drake possibly.  Swillington Ings is a nice open plan area with one or two hides but plenty of walking - have always wanted to see it in  winter.  American Wigeon there last week and it is a breeding ground for Black Necked Grebes.

I am free to go either - most likely go to wherever I don't go this week next week.  Any one fancy going PM me.

Sarfraz
