• cormorant - 1 flew down the Irwell Valley
• lapwing - 3 at Whittaker Pasture
• woodcock - 1 at Warth & 1 at Hurdles Quarry (possibly same bird)
• kestrel - 1 at Warth
• green woodpecker - 1 or 2 at Warth & Hurdles Quarry (1 also heard yesterday at Stubby Lee Park)
• skylark - 4 singing on Whittaker Pasture
• stock dove - 1 at Warth and at least 7 in Hurdles Quarry
• meadow pipit - 5 at Hurdles Quarry
• grey wagtail - 1 at Warth & 1 or 2 pairs in Waterfoot
• pied wagtail - 1 at Warth & 1 at Brow Edge Quarry
• wheatear - 2 in Brow Edge Quarry
• jay flock of 8 noisy birds at Warth
