Craggy and I did a little circuit of Grane today from 7 am to 12 pm.
Holden Wood :-
At least 10 toads under dam wall stuck to each other. Groups of upto 4 on top of each other as well.
2-3 great crested grebes
Min 10 mallard
Chiffchaff singing at top end in small tree moved to hedge.
1 willow warbler in brief song.
2 oystercatcher
3 b h gulls
Around 5 lapwing around res
4 lapwing seen flying above tram track
3-4 coots
3-4 moorhen
Approx 15 cormorants
Ogden:-
2 grey wagtail
2 curlew
Min 5 linnet
Calf hey:-
2 great black backed gull over heading north
2 buzzard
1 sparrowhawk female
1 willow warbler in brief song
1 green woodpecker
Min 3 jay
2 great spotted woodpecker including drumming bird
Min 2 greenfinch
2 grey partridge near ruins up in valley
Goldcrest heard
1 grey heron
singing redpoll
quite a few peacock butterflies around

Lots of common toad mating at Holden wood and two on dam wall Calf Hey
