Canada goose - min 53 at Ogden Res and 30 at Holden Wood, including 3 sitting birds
mallard - 6pr and 10 males at Holden Wood
teal - 2 females and a male at Holden Wood
goldeneye - 1 female on Holden Wood
goosander - 1 pr flying down the Irwell Valley at Hareholme
pheasant - 2 calling birds near EBSW, 1 male at Musbury and 1 calling bird at Holden Wood
cormorant - on Ogden and 12 at Holden Wood
great crested grebe - 1 pr and a single at Holden Wood
buzzard - 1 pr over Holden Wood
kestrel - 2 at Holden Wood
moorhen - 3 or 4 at Holden Wood
coot - 5 at Holden Wood
little ringed plover - 1 at Holden Wood
lapwing - 1 at Musbury, 1 at Musden Heights and 6 at Holden Wood
stock dove - 1 pr on the hillside at Hareholme, 7 near Torside Farm, 4 on Musbury Tor and 2 singles over Holden Wood
woodpigeon - flock of 22 at Holden Wood
great spotted woodpecker - female in Trickett's Memorial and a male at Torside
jay - 1pr and a single in Staghills woods and 1 in Whinberry Woods
jackdaw - birds carrying wool or twigs at Warth, Rawtenstall and Irwell Vale
goldcrest - singing bird at Whinberry Wood
great tit - 5 birds chased each other at Torside
skylark - just 1 heard at Musbury Tor and 2 at Musden Heights
swallow - 1 at Musbury
long tailed tit - 1 pr at Staghills Woods & 1pr and a single in Whinberry Woods
chiffchaff - 1 at Lea Bank & 2 at Whinberry Wood
willow warbler - 1 singing at Holden Wood
nuthatch - 2 singing birds in different areas at Staghills Woods and 2 or 3 singing birds at Torside
treecreeper - 1 at Sunnybank
dipper - 1 at Bocholt Way
wheatear - 2 males together at Musbury and another bird flying over Musbury Tor
pied wagtail - 1 at Fallbarn and 3 at Holden Wood
meadow pipit - 16 at Musbury and 19 at Holden Wood
greenfinch - 4 at Cloughfold Rec and a pair on Thornfield Avenue Waterfoot
bullfinch - 2 calling birds at Whinberry Wood and a pair at Sunnybank
reed bunting - 1 male at Musbury. None seen at Holden Wood again
