Interested in your report. I was on Cowpe Moss a couple of weeks ago and saw no sign of Golden Plover. I wonder if yours are non-breeders just visiting? I suppose only additional visits would answer that. At that time the moor was quite wet, so it must have dried quickly.
I can confirm that the walk to the moor has lengthened from the Norden side as well in the last 40 years. Thought perhaps the draft from the wind farm was holding me back.
