Strongstry woods and river

0730/1100 hrs calm bright 7/12 degrees.

Several Tit flocks including one Treecreeper and three Goldcrest.

Two Buzzards over Chatterton woods and one Kestrel at Alderbottom.

No large finch flock but lots of Goldfinch and 4/5 Siskin feeding on thistle.

Usual Rooks, Magpies, Jackdaw, and Woodpigeons.

Two Jays taking acorns which are again abundant.

One Chiffchaff in week song, several Robins in full song in the sunshine.

Only one Song Thrush seen but two Mistle Thrush in the sheep field at Irwell Vale.

On the river were good numbers of Dipper and Mallard, four female Goosander, one Grey Heron, two Kingfisher, and one Grey Wagtail.
