A good day at the feeding station in terrible weather, cup of tea and feet up watching the usual suspects when a flock of Redwing of around 40 came in and landed in the trees opposite my house.
A quick replenishment of chopped apples and they starred to drop down and feed for around an hour, then a male Sparrowhawk turned up and had two try's for Redwing and then one go for a Blackbird none of which were successful.
The most surprising thing was how quickly the Redwing returned to feed, also had first Treecreeper and Goldcrest of this winter, Redwing still here, Sparrowhawk disappeared, I am off to get wet with the Dog....1445 hrs.
