11:30-14:00

Cormorant, one fishing Buckhurst Lodge was the first I had ever seen on there. 3 birds up & down the valley also.

Canada Goose, a pair flew down the valley,

Teal, 8 on the pond / scrape near Deeply Vale,

Goosander, 2 males & 2 Redheads over towards Edenfield,

Kestrel, 4 singles,

Woodcock, 1 near the top lodge flew into cover on Deeply Hill,

Snipe, 9 flushed off Harden Moor,

B.H.Gull, c200 on fields near Rossendale Schools,

Common Gull, 1 with above,

Herring / L.B.B.Gull, c400 split 75:25 judging from the adults present among the many immatures,

Stock Dove, flock of 4,

Little Owl, 1 sat on a dry stone wall,

Mistle Thrush, pair,

Song Thrush, single,

Redwing, just 2,

Nuthatch, 1 in a Hawthorn edge was a surprise! Started singing too!

Jay, 1 flew from Hawthorn to Hawthorn as they do!

Starling, 2 flocks of c50 & 70,

House Sparrow, c4 near Salesis Farm,

Chaffinch, c6 and again very few finches present!
