2 Buzzard

2 Stock Dove + flock of 4 seen not too far away may have involved the initial two birds.

4 Fieldfare on pasture

c100+17 Common Gull moving N.W. 14:00 hrs

12 L.B.B.Gull N.

2 Herring Gull N.

6 Canada Goose at Shortclough res.

A very noticable absence of Dippers since the Boxing Day deluge. I covered 4/5 known breeding sites along the Limy and the Irwell today & didn't see a single bird. This has been the way of it at Leabrook since the flood, which is my most watched site.

I would suggest that such was the scouring that the river beds took, that nearly all food has been eliminated (all the stones looked as though they had been scubbed clean). As such food stocks may not recover in time for the coming breeding season.

With a veiw to the 2016 report can members keep an eye open for this species during the coming months.

Bob.
