Jan 14th - Dunnock singing sub-song form top of privet at Haslingden Primary and after a week full song

 

 

Friday   5th Feb  -  2  Raven over Cedar Avenue circling on estate where Neil lives - quite low down!   

Friday 12th Feb - large flock of Pink Footed Geese heading north west  about 4.50pm-ish -  I wonder could they be the same as Kevin's birds?

 

Quite a few Herring Gulls Going over in the morning ..north and south......each morning...

One pair of House Martins which nest opposite my house arrived 6th May and around that time there was an influx in Haslingden.

Around that time a Blackcap and Willow warbler singing behind my house.

1 song Thrush to back of my house and 1 heard from Cedar Avenue must be around Moorland Rise area.

Chiffchaff heard since late May from cedar Avenue so must be around moorland Rise

Male Bullfinch seen in scrub just before Recycling Centre on 21st May.

June 1st - Mistle Thrush with 1 young in Memorial Gardens and 2 fledged Backbird juveniles

June 7th - Chiffchaff in Acre just before Rookery.

28 June - Mistle Thrush feeding 1 young in Memorial Gardens
5-8 juvenile Blackbirds

Week of July 11th - number of Swifts appeared to have dropped

Week of July 25th ....further decrease in swift numbers and not many left

July 26 - 6 Swifts over Haslingden ....screaming......

August 5 - 9pm flock of 9 then an increase of up to 17 Swifts over Haslingden


July 21 - first of Lesser Black Backed Gull juveniles with parents heard over Haslingden by myself.

August 6-8 - about 6-7 Swifts over Haslingden

August 15 - Swifts heard screaming above house but none seen

Tawny Owl hooting since early July

26-8-16 - Grey Wagtail over my parents house heading South.
