A roosting Long-eared Owl was found in Rossendale by Kevin L at around 1600 hrs today, both Geoff M and myself attended the site and witnessed the bird in a very open area to roost, it stayed motionless for around an hour when it flew and started hunt ing, after a few minutes rest in a tree it flew to ground and emerged with a vole (?) it then flew some distance and landed in some scrub, presumably to enjoy its catch.
