Canada Goose, c6 pair with several sitting birds around Jamestone & Troy,
Mallard, a pair flew north over the moor,
Pheasant, calling bird,
Red Legged Partridge, calling bird at the top of Heap Clough,
Jack Snipe, one flush from wet ground,
Lapwing, 1 over pasture above Troy,
Oystercatcher, 1 pair around Jamestone,
Curlew, 2 pairs on the tops,
Stock Dove, single above Troy,
G.S.Woodpecker, 1 calling from Kings Hillock Wood,
Skylark, initially very quiet until the sun came out bringing 6 birds into song and several others flitting around the moor,
Sand Martin, 1 flew up Heap Clough,
Meadow Pipit , just a single bird on the tops!
Mistle Thrush, singing bird at the bottom of Heap Clough,
Coal Tit, pair at the bottom of Heap Clough,
Chaffinch, c4 near Troy.
(Bob, Ironically after our conversation a Tawny Owl was calling on Newchurch Road around 20:30 tonight!)
