Hi Dave

I was up at Grane today and can add the following to your sightings

  • Canada goose - similar number of adults. There were 38 goslings at Holden Wood, at least 12 in Jamestone Quarry & 1 in Troy. I was told there were 9 more at Ogden that I didn't see.
  • grey heron - 3 at Holden Wood
  • mallard - there was a duck with 10 large ducklings at Holden Wood as well as the one with 5 ducklings
  • black headed gull - minimum of 72 in Jamestone Quarry
  • stock dove - at least 10 in Jamestone Quarry, 1 in Troy Quarry & 1 across the road from The Duke of Wellington
  • blackcap - similar number to your count, plus 2 males singing from the same hawthorn at Camms
  • grasshopper warbler - 1 at Holden Wood
  • chiffchaff - 1 at Calf Hey
  • coal tit - freshly fledged juv at Troy
  • treecreeper - adult feeding a fledged juv at Camms

cheers Kevin
