G.C.Grebe, pair displaying on Calf Hey,

Cormorant, c5,

Canada Goose, c80, mainly on Holden Wood,

Mallard, c4,

Teal, 5 on Holden Wood & 2 on Calf Hey,

Goldeneye, pair on Holden Wood and a male & 3 females flushed off Ogden by a fisherman,

Buzzard, pair soaring and a single,

Red Grouse, pair on the tops,

Pheasant, male and a female,

Moorhen, single in Troy,

Coot, at least 3 on Holden Wood,

Snipe, 2 on the tops,

Lapwing, 4 pairs around Holden Wood plus flock of 16 flew up the valley,

Oystercatcher, 2 pairs in Jamestones,

Curlew, 1 calling on the tops,

B.H.Gull, c20 on the res's and c30 in the quarries,

G.B.B.Gull, group of 8 on Ogden, mainly 2nd & 3rd winter birds plus 3 in Jamestones, most I can remember seeing in Grane,

Stock Dove, 6 in Troy and 4 in Jamestones,

Green Woodpecker, yaffling birds at Calf Hey & Jamestones,

G.S.Woodpecker, drumming bird at Calf hey,

Skylark, c10 singing birds,

Meadow Pipit, c6,

Pied Wagtail, 4,

Grey Wagtail, 1 at Ogden,

Stonechat, single males at Ogden, Jamestones and above Troy,

Song Thrush, 3 singing birds,

Mistle Thrush, 2 singing birds,

Fieldfare, flock of c160 over,

Coal Tit, c6 singing birds,

Goldcrest, 1 in hedge in Heap Clough,

Nuthatch, at least 2 singing birds at Calf Hey,

Starling, flock of c30 up the valley,

Chaffinch, c12 in song,

Goldfinch, c12,

Siskin, 2 flew into trees at Calf hey.
