• goosander - 1 pr off Baltic Bridge in Waterfoot & a female at K Steels 
• buzzard - 1 over Holmes Terrace Lodge & 1over Horncliffe
• kestrel - 1 at Warth & 1 at Ewood Bridge
• sparrowhawk - 1pr at Holmes Terrace Lodge &1 at Ewood Bridge

• herring gull - 720 counted flying over along the way.  In the morning most birds were moving from Edenfield over Rawtenstall towards Cowpe. Later in the day some birds carried on up the Limy Valley and some headed towards Road End

• common gull - 1 over Staghills Woods
• stock dove - 4 at Warth & 4 at Hurdles Quarry
• woodpigeon - c8 at Warth included a displaying bird

• meadow pipit - flocks of 8, 9 & a single on Whinberry Naze & 2 at EBSW
• pied wagtail - min 35 at EBSW
• grey wagtail - 1 at Warth & 5 at EBSW
• dipper - 1 in Waterfoot, 1 at Groundwork & 2 in territorial dispute at Ewood Bridge
• wren - 2 at Warth and odd birds along the way
• dunnock - Singing bird at Gaghills, & 5 at Warth
• robin - 9 at Warth
• song thrush - singing birds at Waterfoot and Groundwork
• redwing - c20 at EBSW
• fieldfare - flock of 7 at Warth & a flock of 23 flying over Hurdles Quarry to Warth
• blackbird - 8 at Warth (singing bird at Gaghills on Tuesday)
• great tit - 18 at Warth
• blue tit - 16 at Warth
• coal tit - 2 singing birds at Warth & 1 singing at EBSW
• long tailed tit - prs at the Holme, Groundwork & Thornfield Avenue, Waterfoot
• nuthatch - 1 checking out an old green woodpecker nest hole at Warth
• magpie - 6 in Waterfoot & 10 at Warth including a pair nest building
• jay - calling bird at Warth & 1 at EBSW
• jackdaw - c30 at Warth & usual birds at EBSW
• carrion crow - 2 at Warth, 2 at Whinberry Naze & usual birds at EBSW
• raven - 1 soaring over Hurdles Quarry before drifting over Cowpe Lowe
• starling - 3 along Hall Carr Road, including 1 singing from chimney pot & 14 at EBSW
• house sparrow - large noisy flock at The Holme
• chaffinch - 1pr at Warth were the only birds seen along the route
• goldfinch - 24 at Warth including 1 in song flight & 5 at The Holme
• bullfinch - 1pr & a male at Warth & a male in Hall Carr Woods
