A few signs of spring?

Chipping snipe on Holcombe Moor (above Buckden Wood) and a displaying golden plover over Bull Hill/ Scholes heights (off and on for about an hour over a wide area) plus another pair. No red grouse seen but fresh droppings. Singing stonechat Musbury. Along the river reed bunting singing in the rough field above Ewood Bridge for the first time this year and a drumming GS Woodpecker Alderbottom (plus all the usual riparian spp).

No summer migrants today and no curlews where one would normally expect 3 or 4 pairs by now.
