Hi Bob,

GSW in the river valley appear to be in good numbers having had a reasonable winter, several drumming and calling and excavating nest sites. Also two pair of Green Woodpecker actively nesting.

Regards Brian.

Hi Bob

I had a walk through Staghills Woods this afternoon and only saw 2 great spotted woodpeckers. Like you I might just have been unlucky. We used to get 4 or 5 birds coming to our feeders, but this winter there has only been one male coming. Having stated that, most other species have been seen in reduced numbers as well.

Only things of note in Staghills Woods were, 1 sand martin over & 1 nuthatch at nest hole.

A chiffchaff was at our feeding station this morning

cheers Kevin
