  • rook - 1 in a tree at Longholme Methodist & 1 stood on a nest nearby

Groundwork 

  • willow warbler - 1
  • chiffchaff - 2
  • grey wagtail - 1 male

Holmes Terrace Lodge

  • little grebe - 1
  • Canada goose - 3 pr
  • mallard - 3m & 1f
  • moorhen - 1
  • nuthatch - 1 

K Steels to Ewood Bridge

  • buzzard - 1pr soaring over bypass towards Road End
  • kestrel - 1 hunting over the bypass
  • willow warbler - 1
  • grey wagtail - 1
  • dipper - 1

EBSW (gates only)

  • Canada goose - 1pr including a sitting bird
  • mallard - 4
  • oystercatcher - 1pr
  • sparrowhawk 1pr? over
  • buzzard - 1
  • black headed gull - 13
  • lesser black backed gull - steady constant passage towards AMR/ Pilsworth
  • herring gull - at least 3 in with the lesser black backs
  • chiffchaff - 1
  • blackcap - 2
  • swallow - c75
  • house martin - min 7
  • sand martin - in 2
  • brambling - 1pr in the trees between the bungalows and the gates as you walk in from Ewood Bridge

Hi Kevin

A few extra bits'n'bobs from the same area in the morning:-

Blackcap - singing birds K Steel and Irwell Vale (plus another Helmshore)

Willow warbler - EBSW south end

Great spotted woodpecker - 1 K Steel and 1 drumming EBSW

Goosander - male Groundwork

(also today around the top end of Alden and Musbury - fairly quiet but bubbling curlews in both valleys)
