During the mild spell in late February the numbers of most species dropped off and food consumed was well down for that time of year, now we have moved into a wet cool period, over the last couple of days activity has increased.....

Brambling....were down to a handful, but now back up to around 20.

Greenfinch.....two have been present all week.

Goldfinch...numbers are still down, 8

Chaffinch....only around a dozen.

Bullfinch....two pair regular.

Good numbers of Great, Blue and Coal Tits but very few Long-tailed.

Lots of local Blackbirds.

Song Thrush....three most days.

Mistle Thrush....a Single has been visiting at first light all week taking apples.

Great Spotted Woodpecker....two pair every day feeding on fat.

Robin....at least 6 all becoming very territorial.

Wren.....only seen one this week

Dunnock....I am seeing more than usual, maybe because they have been displaying constantly.

Goldcrest....two for the first time this winter taking mealworm.

Treecreeper.....one most days.

Nuthatch.....a conservative estimate would be 7/8 very difficult to count because they dont hang around.

Jay....at least 5 most days.

Jackdaw.....5/6 most mornings.

Carrion Crow....unusually two have been quite regular.

Wood Pigeon.....more than enough.

Collared Dove....one pair regular.

Regards Brian.
