Thirteen Stone

A large flock of golden plovers flying around the hill, off high to the north then back around 15 minutes later, appearing to land. A reasonably accurate count of 180 to 200.

Also on the hill 4 pairs of lapwing, 2 pairs of curlew and six snipe. 15+ rooks at the Farmers Glory. A good smattering of meadow pipits here and elsewhere with many singing (no flocks) and reasonable numbers of skylarks (but still fewer than during the hot spell)

Grane

pr Great Crested Grebes, 13 teal, 2 goldeneye HWR, 5 goldeneye Calf Hey, 2 Great Black-backed gulls Ogden. Only a handful of black-headed gulls and no coots seen

Townsend Fold area

One chiffchaff singing Groundwork. Greylag goose and male goosander nr K steel. The coots seem to have moved on from HTL
