It seems the Brambling have departed for there breeding grounds, no sign for two days now.
They first appeared in Strongstry on 29/11/18 with a couple of females, by mid January numbers were over sixty and I even had one flew into the house for a warm.
They were here for a total of 144 days, numbers peaked at over 60, They fed very well on sunflower hearts and niger, never saw a Ringed one or any sign of disease in any birds.
These are the highest numbers and longest times present I have recorded here in the 12 years the feeding station has been running, it has been a big year throughout most of Europe.
