• Canada goose - 220 adult & 28 gosling at Holden Wood, 17 adult & 4 gosling Ogden, 8 adult & 4 gosling Calf Hey, 11 adults & 10 gosling Jamestone. 
• Canada goose/ greylag hybrid - 1 at Holden Wood
• mallard - 6 on Holden Wood, 3 at Calf Hey, 3 ducklings, which appeared to have been abandoned & 1pr in Jamestone Quarry 
• oystercatcher - c8
• lapwing - just a pr at Holden Wood. 
• common sandpiper - 7 around the valley
• curlew - 5
• moorhen - 1 at Holden Wood
• sparrowhawk - 1 male carrying prey
• kestrel - 2
• black-headed gull - 42 at Jamestone
• lesser-black backed gull - c25 over & 3 on Ogden
• herring gull - 1 over
• stock dove - c5 across Jamestone & Heap Clough
• pied wagtail - 4
• grey wagtail - 3
• meadow pipit - c30
• wheatear - adult and juv at Jamestone
• stonechat - 1pr at Calf Hey, probably had young hidden nearby
• mistle thrush - 4 at Jamestone
• song thrush - singing at Holden Wood & Calf Hey
• blackcap - 7
• whitethroat - 1 at Holden Wood 
• willow warbler - 6
• grasshopper warbler - 1 reeling at Holden Wood & 1 reeling at Calf Hey.  Thanks to Paula for pointing out the reeling bird at Calf Hey. Not quite sure how she managed to see it without binoculars

• nuthatch - 2 at Calf Hey
• goldcrest - calling & singing birds at Calf Hey & Clough Head
• coal tit - family party at Calf Hey
• long-tailed tit - family party at Holden Wood
• jay - at least 2 at Heap Clough
• chaffinch - c15 singing
• greenfinch - 3 over Holden Wood & 1 at Calf Hey
• goldfinch - c12
• siskin - calling bird at Calf Hey
• linnet - 1pr at Jamestone
• reed bunting - 8 singing birds
