0830/1130 hrs Cool Westerly overcast/sunshine 6/9 degrees.

Dipper.....two pairs both carrying nest material.

Goosander.....5 Males and 7 Females along the river some displaying.

Mallard....several on the river.

Song Thrush......two in song and one feeding in garden

Blackbird.....good numbers throughout.

Wren......plenty in song on at nest site on riverside.

Blue/Great/Coal Tit......good numbers, again especially of Coal Tit, many using nest boxes.

Long-tailed Tit....two nest sites complete after a week hard work.

Willow Warbler.....Single still feeding in Stubbins.

Chiffchaff......two heard and two more seen one in my back garden.

Nuthatch.....several calling.

Goldfinch.....some heard a pair on garden feeder in Irwell vale.

Chaffinch...several and first one in song.

Kingfisher.....single flying upstream.

Jay....only one seen.

Great Spotted Woodpecker.....one drumming and another feeding

Green Woodpecker......Male calling near to nest site.

Jackdaw....not only are they in most of the chimneys there are at least 6 nest on the cycle track.

Carrion Crow/Magpie.... nest for each being built.

Grey Heron.....over Alderbottom.

Wood Pigeon.....no shortage.

Stock Dove.....seam to have taken up residence in new flood plain field.

No Grey Wagtails or Sand Martins....yet.
