River Irwell Stubbins to Irwell Vale.

0730/1100 hrs Damp overcast but calm, 12/15 degrees.

Dipper.....The first Dippers fledged this morning from one of five nest sites, three young were visibly being fed by both adults, there was possibly a fourth out of sight, On two Of the other sites I can see young with beaks showing, the other the other two are impossible to see.

Grey Wagtail.....three pairs one pair have been feeding young for a couple of days the others are still attending nest sites.

Sand Martin.....There are now 19 nest holes in use and some look like they are on eggs.

Goosander ....one female sitting and two females and a Male on the river.

Two juvenile Grey Herons fishing.

Mallard..... several young with adults.
