Moorhen, kingfisher & dipper seen off Baltic & Waterfoot bridges

Warth/ Hurdles area

• cormorant - 1 over to Cowpe
• black-headed gull 9 over
• common gull - 1 over
• buzzard - 1
• sparrowhawk - 2 birds chased the same song thrush/ redwing (not sure which). Never seen this happen before, but the birds were not working together. 1 was chasing the prey, whilst the other followed very closely behind. Not sure of the outcome.
• kestrel - 1 male
• woodpigeon - c12
• grey wagtail - 1
• pied wagtail - 1
• robin - 19
• blackbird - 7
• mistle thrush - 2
• fieldfare - 9 over Staghills Woods
• redwing - 40 + 35 + 10 + 15 + 1 + 5 + 6 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 100 (possibly some duplication). i also heard a couple of birds calling over Waterfoot at 9:50 & 10:25pm last night
• nuthatch - 2
• treecreeper - 1
• great tit - 6
• blue tit - 2
• coal tit - 1
• long-tailed tit - 5 seen, others heard
• goldcrest - 2 singles
• dunnock - 3
• wren - 6
• jay - constant toing and froing could have been the same bird or as many as six individuals
• magpie - 9
• jackdaw - c80
• carrion crow - 7
• raven - 1
• chaffinch - 4
• goldfinch - 4
• linnet - 1
• bullfinch - juvenile on rowan berries, plus at least 4 calling birds at 3 other sites
