Clough Bottom 

  • mallard - 16
  • goosander - 3 (2 drakes)
  • black-headed gull - 52
  • common gull - 3
  • great black-backed gull - 3
  • herring gull - 1 on the res & 4 over to Clowbridge
  • kestrel - 3, included 2 that appeared to be in conflict on a pylon at Windy Bank
  • woodpigeon - 1
  • great spotted woodpecker - 1
  • green woodpecker - 1
  • grey wagtail - calling bird in outflow 
  • stonechat - male along the side of the res
  • robin - 1
  • blackbird - 2
  • long-tailed tit - min 12
  • coal tit - calling bird
  • great tit calling bird
  • carrion crow - 6
  • magpie - 4
  • wren - 1
  • chaffinch - 1 male

Clowbridge

  • cormorant - 10
  • mallard - 23 on the res & 19 on the pond near the car park
  • goosander - 1 redhead
  • black-headed gull - c120 with numbers increasing as I left @ 3pm
  • common gull - c40 with numbers increasing
  • great black-backed gull - 4
  • herring gull - 5 on the res & 7 over south
  • jack snipe - 1 flew across the res and landed in bankside vegetation on east side of res, just north of south bay. Appeared to have been flushed from somewhere near the boat house, but not certain as the bird was airborne before I saw it.
  • robin - 2
  • blackbird - 3 
  • blue tit - 4
  • great tit - 1
  • carrion crow - 6
  • magpie - 1
  • chaffinch - 3
  • greenfinch - min 5
  • goldfinch - 1
  • bullfinch - 1 female
