0800/1100 hrs 5/11 degrees sunny and calm.
Blue/Great/Coal Tits .....all in good numbers.
Long-tailed Tit.....several pairs very active one nest half built.
Goldfinch.....pairs all round the route.
Chaffinch.....20+ still at the feeding station.
Bullfinch......3/4 pairs around East view and Porritt Lodge, pair near Alderbottom.
Greenfinch.....3 at East view, these have been here all winter hopefully may stay and breed
Chiffchaff.....one in hedge at East view, probably same bird as a few weeks ago, there was also one near Porritt lodge yesterday.
Blackbird.....many.
Song Thrush.....around most area in pairs.
Great Spotted Woodpecker.....Several drumming and calling especially Strongstry woods.
Nuthatch.....as usual many around lots calling.
Treecreeper......only saw one in Strongstry.
Dunnock......several pairs, one displaying to females.
Robin.....many
Wren....many
Jay....3 above Alderbottom
Jackdaw....lots around, some nesting in chimneys.
Carrion Crow....two pair nest building, one in Stubbins and other in Chatterton
Magpie....pair nest building in Stubbins
Collared Dove....one pair in Irwell Vale.
Wood Pigeon....many
Buzzard.....Two soaring over Irwell Vale.
House Sparrow.....strong colonies in Chatterton and Irwell Vale.
Dipper....four pair on territory between Stubbins road bridge and Irwell Vale.
Grey Wagtail....two pair.
Mallard....plenty on river paired off.
Goosander.....3 female and 1 Male.
Moorhen.....one at Alderbottom and pair on Lodge at Irwell Vale.
Grey Heron....one sitting on nest at soap works Irwell Vale, 3 pair nesting at Lodge farm.
Little Greece....pair on Lodge at Lodge farm.
Pheasant....Male at Alderbottom
Disappointed not to half seen a Kingfisher.
