Late Afternoon.

Grey Lag Goose, 1 over heading west,

Buzzard, 1 in to trees at dusk,

Sparrowhawk, only alerted to it by the uproar from c20 Jackdaws and half a dozen crows as a female pinned a Magpie down. several crows had a go at the Sparrowhawk and after c5 minutes the Magpie managed to struggle free...a lucky escape!

Lapwing, 1 displaying in a field near Edge Cote,

Snipe, 14 on Edge Cote,

Stock Dove, 1 over,

Wood Pigeon, c40 feeding in a field,

Skylark, 1 singing on the tops,

Meadow Pipit, 6 on Edge Cote,

Song Thrush, 3 in song,

Coal Tit, 2,

Goldcrest, 3 in conifers at Edge Cote,

Greenfinch, 2 in display,

Chaffinch, c4 in song,

Bullfinch, calling birds at Waingate & Edge Cote,

Reed Bunting, 2 at Edge Cote.
