  • Canada goose - 2pr Lee Quarry, 4p & a group of 3 in Whitworth Quarry, 22 at Cowm & 3pr at Spring Mill
  • Tufted duck - 1 male at Spring Mill
  • goosander - 3 at Spring Mill
  • goldeneye - 3 at Spring Mill
  • lapwing - 12 at Spring Mill
  • herring gull - 10 flew south near Lee Quarry
  • lesser black-backed gull - 2 at Cowm
  • black-headed gull - 10 at Cowm & 4 at Spring Mill
  • sparrowhawk - female over Lee Quarry
  • kestrel - 1 at Lee Quarry & 1pr at Spring Mill
  • buzzard - 2
  • little owl - birds at 2 sites in Lee Quarry
  • woodpigeon - c50 at Spring Mill
  • stock dove - min 7 at Lee Quarry
  • green woodpecker - 1 at Cowm
  • stonechat - 1pr at Spring Mill
  • mistle thrush - singing bird near Spring Mill
  • long-tailed tit - 1 pr carrying feathers at Lee Quarry
  • starling - c150 at Spring Mill
  • bullfinch - 1 male at Cowm
  • greenfinch - 2 at Lee Quarry & 1 at Cowm
  • lesser redpoll - min 2 males in song flight at Cowm
  • linnet - calling bird at Lee Quarry
  • reed bunting - 1pr at Whitworth Quarry & 2 males & a female at Spring Mill

Does any body have any idea what species the feather in the attached photo belongs to? it was found in a wet patch on the moors between Lee & Whitworth Quarries.

Cheers Craig. It is snipe. I've seen a few pics of the same feather now. Looked a bit too peach coloured at first
