Visited yesterday evening and this morning both in good weather.

Dipper....single at Alderbottom and Strongstry both visits, would have expected regular pair at both sites.

Grey Wagtail.....two pair in both areas feeding on airborne midge.

Goosander.....none in the evening, but three pair fishing near Alderbottom.

Mallard....several pairs both visits.

This morning in bright warm sunshine plenty Of waterborne midge and several medium olive hatching, time will tell after the pollution of the weekend.

Other species of note....

Chiffchaff.....at least three in song this morning.

Redwing.....flock of 18+ moving through Strongstry wood.

Sparrowhawk.....one soaring high over Lumb.

Treecreeper....single in Strongstry.

Song Thrush.....single carrying nest material.

No Sand Martins at Strongstry yet.

Regards Brian.
