Strongstry woods and river.

Calm sunny, 5 degrees. 0800/1030 hrs.

Of note....

Goosander.....3 pair feeding along the river.

Dipper....pair on territory at Strongstry, single only at Alderbottom.

Grey Wagtail....3 pair, one pair with nest materials.

Grey Heron....Single at Alderbottom.

No Sand Martins at nest site....yet.

Kingfisher.....Male calling in flight.

Willow Warbler......5 seen and heard

Chiffchaff....3

Blackcap.....first Male seen and it was with the female at East view.

Greenfinch.....5 around East view still.

Lesser Redpoll....single Male, unusual for here.

Bullfinch.....had a good winter, at least 6 pair Porritt lodge area.

Chaffinch....good numbers.

Reed Bunting....Male and fe at East view, bred here last year.

Long-tailed Tits sitting at two sites.

Song Thrush....sitting on nest on railway embankment 

Great Spotted Woodpecker.....several calling and drumming.

Green Woodpecker.....calling.

Moorhens....with completed nests at two sites.

Jay....several throughout the woods.
