Overcast, calm 18 degrees. 0900 hrs to 1230 hrs.

Wren feeding young in my garden nest.

Coal Tits feeding in garden.

Goldfinch carrying food to nest site in village.

Nuthatch calling.

Along river/Pin meadow to Stubbins.......

Nine Swallows, seven House Martin hawking insects.

Sand Martins had a torrid time earlier in the year, started well then disappeared now only 6/7 pairs with nests.

Grey Wagtails have fledged 3/4 young.

Dippers fledged three young which they fed but have not seen for a while, adults are busy rebuilding the nest

Three Black-headed Gulls have taken to patrolling the river looking for food.

Couple of Mallards with young.

Carrion Crow feeding young in field.

Blackcap carrying food.

Two Willow warblers feeding.

Long- tailed Tits feeding young.

Manny Blackbird, Blue Tit, Great Tit and Robin.

At least two pair Song Thrush with young.

Magpies, Jackdaw and Wood Pigeon.

Stubbins to East view lodge..........

House Sparrows and Chaffinch on feeders.

Single Goldcrest in East view garden.

Willow Warbler and Blackcap around Lodge.

Pair Of Blackcap with food.

Several Coal Tits around.

Moorhen with three young.

Nuthatch carrying food to nest hole.

Couple Of days ago I heard a reeling Grasshopper Warbler here but have not been able to relocate.

Single Great Spotted Woodpecker Over, not seen as many this year.

Plenty Goldfinch and Chaffinch in the Hawthorn and hedges.

Blue and Great Tits carrying food.

At least two pair Bullfinch feeding.

Three Greenfinch flying round, bit of a success story with them breeding here.

Pair Of Mistle Thrush feeding in field.

Single Buzzard overhead.

Porritt Lodge to Alderbottom.......

Another Goldcrest at Lodge, dont see many here.

A surprise Kingfisher on the Lodge, not been a great year so far.

Couple Of pair of Dunnock feeding.

More Bullfinch, Chaffinch and Long-tailed Tits around the Lodge.

Single juvenile Tawny Owl at known Day roost.

Another pair of Mistle Thrush at Alderbottom.

Single Male Kestrel hunting over Lumb Vale.

Single female Goosander asleep on river bank.

Dippers very active with probable second brood.

Grey Heron in usual tree.

Pair Of Stock Doves have nested in a tree hole, but no young seen.

Couple Of pair of Nuthatch here.

Alderbottom to Strongstry......

Several Jackdaws with young.

Whitethroat singing.

Single Treecreeper on river bank tree.

Couple Of Willow Warbler singing and feeding.

Two Jays feeding.

Good Numbers Of Blackbird, Robin, and Wren through the woods.

No local Garden Warbler this year which is unusual, nearest pair at Ewood Bridge, also definite shortage of Woodpeckers, low numbers of Great Spotted and no Green.
