  • oystercatcher - 1pr over Edgeside & 1pr in Whitworth Quarry
  • snipe - 1pr 
  • curlew - 1 or 2 around Whitworth & Lee Quarries
  • lesser black-backed gull - 1 in Whitworth Quarry. Up to two years ago there were 100s regularly up there
  • skylark - c15, including a fledged juv on Stubbylee Moss
  • great spotted woodpecker - 1 flying between Stacksteads Cemetery & Lee Clough
  • swift - 14 over Edgeside Park, 2 over Toll Bar, 4 over Cutler Lane with 2 entering the eaves of houses, 4 over Lee Mill & 10 over Britannia
  • swallow - just 1 at Lee Quarry & c4 at Deansgreave Road, seem to be having a very poor year
  • house martin - c8 over Waterfoot & c3 over New Line
  • wheatear - 2 males & a female (carrying food) in the east end of Lee Quarry & 5 males along the north side of Whitworth Quarry
  • chiffchaff - 2 in Trickett's Memorial, 1 at Park Road, Waterfoot, 1 at Wales Terrace Plantation, 1 at Glen Top & 1 at Lee Mill
  • willow warbler - 2 at Waterbarn, 2 at Moss Meadow & 2 at Lee Clough
  • wood warbler - 1 at Lee Clough
  • blackcap - singing birds at Trickett's Memorial (2), The Glen, Waterbarn, Moss Meadow & Lee Clough
  • raven - 2 over Stacksteads
  • greenfinch - 2 males at Edgeside Park
  • linnet - 3pr min at Whitworth Quarry & 1 male at Deansgreave Road
  • redpoll - min 2 in Lee Clough & 1 in Whitworth Quarry
  • bullfinch - 1 male at Moss Meadow
