A garden warbler was singing just off Deansgreave Road, New Line this afternoon, just off the track from New Line Res.

Not much else to report between here and Waterfoot. Didn't hear the wood warbler at Lee Quarry today. Of note the below were seen

• kestrel - 1 near Lee Quarry
• little owl - 1 in east end of Lee Quarry
• stock dove - 1pr in east end of Lee Quarry
• skylark - c40 on the moors between Lee & Whitworth Quarry, included several juvs
• meadow pipit - c30 on the moors between Lee & Whitworth Quarry, included first juvs of the year
• swallow - only 1 in Whitworth Quarry & 3 at Deansgreave Road. None seen near the farms below Lee Quarry so far this year.
• wheatear - juveniles present at 2 sites near Whitworth Quarry
• linnet - 5 at Whitworth Quarry & a pair at Deansgreave Road
• reed bunting - 1 singing at the top of Deansgreave Road
