On a family visit to South Yorkshire I decided to visit to Potteric Carr, a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust reserve not far from Doncaster.  It is a fairly big reserve with reed beds, water bodies, woodland and some grassland.   I walked around and had a Garganey pointed out to me.  There were in excess of 10 Little Egret on the reserve, 6 Green Sandpiper and a juvenile Black Necked Grebe.  A few days earlier some Spoonbill and Great White Egrets were also present.  A Roe Deer gave excellent views near a viewing screen.  The highlight were the butterflies and dragonflies which were out in force on this warm day.  Apparently there is a small population of Silver Washed Fritillaries here but I never saw any.  Brimstone and Common Blue were the main highlights.
