Strongstry / Irwell Vale Woods and river.

0800/1200 hrs sunny calm 16 degrees.

Of Note....

Dipper.....two nests fully built.

Grey Wagtail.....now three pairs on this stretch

Goosander......three female, two Male.

Kingfisher.... none seen for over four days.

Buzzard....pair soaring.

Chiichaff......first for here this spring in full song in Lumb vale.

Bullfinch.....Good Numbers.

Long-tailed Tit.....Good Numbers, several active nest sites.

Nuthatch.... very good Numbers again.

Greenfinch....two or three pairs still in East View area.

Moorhen....nest building on East view lodge.

Great Spotted Woodpecker......two drumming, one clearing nest hole.

Green Woodpecker

Lesser Redpoll.....a pair were feeding in a clough in Lumb wood on Tuesday, have not been able to relocate since.

Grey Héron....of the four nests two are visible and both have at least one young.

Coot.... single on Lodge.

Redwing....40+ feeding in field just of Helmshore road
