cormorant - 6 at Cowpe Res
grey heron - 9 at Warth
mallard - 11 at St James St. Waterfoot
great black-backed gull - 1 on Cowpe Res
lesser black-backed gull - 1 flying up the Irwell valley
herring gull - 7 + 4 high over Warth
common gull - min 10 at Cowpe Res & 12 at the head of Lench
black-headed gull - c80 at Cowpe Res
grey partridge - no birds seen, but droppings from a roost found on Cowpe Lowe & other droppings found on north side of Cowpe Lowe
buzzard - 1 at Warth
sparrowhawk - male over Warth & a female flying low over Whinberry Pasture towards a starling flock
kestrel - 2 at Hurdles Quarry
skylark - flock of at least 20 at Whinberry Naze & 2 singing birds near Heights Quarry
grey wagtail - 1 at Warth
dipper - 2 in Waterfoot & 2 at Warth
mistle thrush - singing birds at Staghills Woods & Cowpe, plus 4 near Cowpe Res
redwing - min 12 at Warth & 2 near Cowpe Res
fieldfare - c10 near Cowpe Res
robin - 9 at Warth
dunnock - 9 at Warth
wren - just 2 seen at Warth
nuthatch - 1 storing peanuts at Warth
treecreeper - 1 at Warth, 1pr at Trickett's Memorial yesterday
great tit - 10 at Warth
long-tailed tit - 2 singles at Warth & a pair at Boarsgreave
goldcrest - singing bird at Gaghills & 1 near Cowpe Res
rook - 20 feeding in fields at Cowpe
jackdaw - 150 at Warth & min 80 in fields at Cowpe
chaffinch - 9 at Warth
goldfinch - c20 at Warth
bullfinch - 2 calling birds at Warth
reed bunting - calling bird at Cowpe Res
